Dr. Michelle Paluch-Mishur is Owner and President of Art Excursions. She holds a Ph.D. in the History of Art from The University of Wisconsin-Madison, the M.A. in Art History from Northern Illinois University, and a B.A. in Art History from Loyola University Chicago.  Dr. Paluch-Mishur is the recipient of numerous grants, awards and fellowships.

Dr. Paluch-Mishur is a member of the Illinois Humanities Council’s speakers bureau and has taught courses in the History of Art at the university level.  She is also a popular lecturer on topics related to the History of Art, Travel and Women’s Studies.

During her undergraduate and graduate years of study, Michelle lived in Rome, Milan, Palermo, Trent, Genoa and Venice.  She has also traveled to study art, architecture, culture and natural wonders in Europe, Africa, The United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and The Middle East. Michelle is native to the Chicago area.

Paluch-Mishur is instrumental in the research and design of small group tours and handles pre-tour communications, itinerary planning and follow-up. Clients of Art Excursions expect to receive regular updates from Michelle about tour itineraries and other details so they are prepared in advance for a memorable and educational on-site experience.

When she is not researching. leading a tour or making a presentation, Michelle enjoys wildlife photography, hiking, and spending time with her husband, Jeff Mishur.

In 2011, Michelle and Jeff were recognized by the midwest’s largest animal shelter for their efforts in fostering special needs dogs who need to recover in a home setting; funding surgeries for rescued animals; volunteering at the shelter on a consistent basis; and helping out at offsite adoption events.

In 2015, Michelle was recognized as an “Inspiring Woman” by The Women’s Initiative Program of Itasca Bank in Itasca, IL.
